Dad and I love our food and India is a paradise for the hungry traveler. From street snacks to fine restaurant fare, wedding banquets and vegan burgers on the beach, we’ve done our best so far to eat India! Here are a few highlights:
Dads first thali (set dinner served on a steel plate) in the famous Sravan Bhavan – Connaught Place, Delhi
Food from Tamil Nadu with Puri (deep fried breads), Sambar (like a soup, heavy in the tamarind) and loads of coconut based curries and chutneys. Southern food is lighter and less spicy than northern food. More rice, less flat breads generally.
Thali no. 2 – A smorgasbord of Gujarati and Rajasthan specialities. Radjhani Restaurant, Connaught Place again.
